Step #3 Choosing a Head Material
Now we start to get into the details of how a stick is going to look. Not all materials are avialable for all styles of stick and in some cases I may not have suitable stock materials on hand but this list shows all the materials I have worked with and I do try to have some of all of them available.

I can sometimes get other woods as well as more exotic horns such as goat horn or multi colored sheep horn. While antler cannot be bent the way horn can i occasionaly come across pieces that have a natural crook shape although they would fall under the market stick category as defined here.
