Sheepdog Trial Events

The Fecht farm trial is back on the calendar. A large flat field running on Valley ewes.

Forty Eight hours of intensive training on how to read sheep behavior and how to use it to aid you in trialing and general sheep management. Starting Friday evening with a field walk and lecture. Saturday starts with breakfast discussion then on to exercises to help you read and control sheep. More exercises continue through the day then after dinner there is a video session. Sunday again starts with breakfast and exercises morning and afternoon.

Lady Hill began with a family and a dedication to the land. For over 150 years, our family have been working this land, growing food and building a connection with the land. Located next to the Champoeg State Heritage Area, this place has been a center of Oregon’s agricultural soul. As fifth-generation custodians of this land, we are dedicated to honoring our family’s legacy. Lady Hill Winery was founded in 2012 as a gathering place and working farm that would honor the past and contribute to the rich history of the land. Lady Hill is named as tribute to the lineage of powerful women who have always been the heart of our family. With every bottle, we invite you to our table to share in this story and taste our heritage in every sip. The sheepdog trial is held on a hillside directly behind our tasting room providing an exceptional viewing experience. Come for the sheepdogs, stay for the wine.

The annual Halloween trial at Wolston Farm brings handlers and dogs in costume (sat only for costumes) back to the farm for a low stress, hi fun event. Open to the public unless weather prevents parking

Wolston Farms new year trial. This event has a combined championship with the earlier Boo & Baa trial.

Two days of open with a marked shed. A Double lift championship round and a day for other classes. Held on the trial field at Wolston Farm and featuring a beer garden that raises money for Whistle and Crook SDS.
