Host a Sheepdog Trial
A sheepdog trial is a unique, unforgettable event for farms, wineries, and agritourism venues. We handle the details — you provide the setting.
For a detailed breakdown of what full-service trial management includes — facility setup, course design, sheep, judges, and everything in between — see

Why Host a Trial?
Sheepdog trials draw an engaged, rural-lifestyle audience of handlers, spectators, and agriculture enthusiasts. They're a natural fit for farms, ranches, wineries, and agritourism venues looking for distinctive events that showcase working land.
- Attract regional and national competitors and their families
- Showcase your land, livestock operation, and facilities
- Build brand recognition in the working-dog community
- Generate revenue from vendor space, hospitality, and visibility
- Align with agritourism, farm-to-table, and rural lifestyle brands
- Feature your logo and venue name across all trial materials — entry forms, emails, running orders, and our public event listing
We've hosted trials at farms and wineries across the Willamette Valley. Each event is tailored to the venue's land and character.
What You Need
Ideal host venues have:
- Open pasture suitable for a trial course (typically 20–50 acres)
- Willingness and ability to build suitable pens on a permanent or temporary basis (we will help with design and location)
- Parking for competitors, trailers, and spectators
- Basic facilities — restrooms, shaded areas, water access
- Willingness to allow access for 4–5 days, depending on whether you want a 2 or 3 day event
Sanctioning & Promotion
We arrange sanctioning of all the events we manage with the USBCHA and OSDS, the primary national and regional sanctioning bodies for sheepdog trials, and promote the event to regional and national handler networks.
Interested in Hosting?
We'd love to talk about your venue, your goals, and whether a sheepdog trial is a good fit. There's no obligation — just a conversation.
